Compassionate and tailored support for parents to be
I offer compassionate and tailored support to parents antenatally, during birth and early postpartum. I also offer full-body pregnancy and postnatal massage in my studio or in your own home.
I offer my support mainly across South London, though I can travel further.
Please get in touch to find out more about my availability.
BIRTH SUPPORT
I support births at home and in hospital, including surgical births.
My birth doula support usually includes:
-
Being on-call from week 38 until baby is born (although if you go into labour earlier, I will do everything I can to be there)
-
Setting up and maintaining your desired birth environment
-
Protecting your birthing preferences and space in line with our antenatal discussions
Supporting your other birth partner (if you have one) and working attentively as a team with your midwives
Suggesting different birth positions according to knowledge of biomechanics (only if necessary)
-
Massage
-
Holding space for your special golden hour(s) with baby and supporting first feed
You can learn more about what to expect from a doula in my FAQ’s.

POSTNATAL SUpport
Care for new mothers during the postnatal period is often neglected as the focus is on the baby. I believe it is vitally important for you to feel supported and confident through this period of matrescence. I am here to listen and respond to what you need.
I support parents both practically and emotionally during the crucial "fourth trimester". Understanding that it is an absolute privilege to be present during this amazingly special yet often overwhelming transition into parenthood, I nourish and nurture parents so that you can in turn love, nurture and care for your baby to give them the best start in life.
Postnatal doula support might include:
-
Birth debriefing
-
Providing evidence-based information and signposting appropriately
-
Breastfeeding / bottle-feeding support
-
Safe co-sleeping / bedsharing support
-
Babywearing info + support
-
Gentle/ attachment parenting
-
Empowering you to discover your intuition and strength
-
Help with shopping / errands
-
Massage for aching shoulders whilst you breastfeed.
-
Cooking delicious nourishing meals
-
Enabling opportunities for rest
-
Help with other little ones
-
A listening ear over a cup of tea
-
Light cleaning and housework
MASSAGE
Ensuring your body is taken care of whilst pregnant and before giving birth is extremely important. Apart from the obvious physical health benefits, massage offers an opportunity to take time out for yourself and to connect with your body and your baby. It can help you prepare mentally and physically for birth. As part of an antenatal session, we also touch on posture, breathwork, and antenatal exercises. Birth partners can also join sessions, if held in your home, to learn some massage techniques for labour.
Postnatal massage is generally possible as soon as you feel comfortable. After nine months of growing and carrying a baby, followed by birth, a new mother starts from a state of relative ‘weakness’ or ‘depletion’ immediately after birth and gradually your emotional and physical strength start to build. Light-touch massage is therefore more appropriate in the first weeks but after 6 weeks, bodywork can generally begin to get stronger and more physical techniques can be used as you recover.
You can find out more about the benefits of pre & post natal massage in my FAQ’s.
My style of massage is rooted in the Esalen technique, which is relatively unknown in this country. It is somewhat similar to Swedish and Lomi Lomi massage but as described below and on the Esalen website, it is unique in its holistic approach and slow, integrative strokes. It really is the most nurturing massage I’ve come across.

“An Esalen Massage is an inward journey rather than a therapeutic treatment. Through long strokes, a slow pace, and pauses, you are invited to return to your natural state of balance and alignment…”

I more recently trained in pregnancy massage with the highly acclaimed Suzanne Yates (Wellmother) and am currently completing my certification.
COOKING
As a trained chef and Nutritional Therapist, I value good nutrition, but above all, I am a dedicated foodie. I love cooking simple, tasty food. I offer a bespoke freezer / fridge filling service, which will be prepared in my kitchen and delivered to you so that I am not in your way. I have an extensive repertoire of delicious and nutritious meals to suit all dietary requirements or can cook any of your firm favourites.
The cost of ingredients is supplementary to my hourly rate.
I understand that every family’s experience is unique and requires individually tailored care and support.
PRICING & PACKAGES
All of my support can be tailored to your needs and I offer “pay as you go” antenatal and postnatal support, so if perhaps you just want an hour or two to discuss a specific issue (e.g. whether to go ahead with induction or not) or postnatally you just want help for a day or two , please do get in touch to discuss. If, however, you’re someone that likes a “package”, I've created some for you!
I strongly believe that all birthing parents should have the information they need to make the right decisions for their birth whether you choose to employ a doula or not. With this in mind, please see my FAQ’s page for a list of free resources.
